Qi Kuai means “weird” in Chinese Mandarin and Kuan Ni means “don’t care'“.
Going against the chinese culture
With my this collection I wanted to make a statement. A statement for the younger asian generations. We grew up with strict rules, we get judged by how dress/ want to dress and how we want express ourselves. We’ve been told that whatever you do, do it perfect and be the best. My collection is all about going against it. I made prints with body parts, I drew the pattern freehand without measuring everything, I stitched everything inside out or placed them wrong, I ripped parts up for an “unfinished” look and for some ruffled effect. I chose to put some color in to make it more personal with my own taste but also to make it more quirky.
